FCT Shield 2025 – Briefing Meeting
The journey to FCT Shield 2025 officially began with the briefing meeting, setting the stage for what would become an unforgettable tournament within the Faculty of Computing and Technology, University of Kelaniya.
The briefing meeting was organized by the FCT Shield organizing committee with the purpose of bringing together all key participants of the tournament. This included team members representing the three degree programmes, members of the organizing committee, staff members, and match officials. The session served as the official starting point of the tournament, ensuring that everyone involved shared a clear understanding of the event and its expectations.
The meeting was held on 23rd April 2025 at the Faculty of Computing and Technology. It marked an important milestone in the journey of FCT Shield, creating excitement and anticipation among participants.
Senior Lecturer Mr. Neil Cooray and Mr. Ananda Bandara Jayasooriya graced the occasion as chief guests, adding significance and recognition to the event. Their presence highlighted the importance of FCT Shield as a faculty-level initiative that goes beyond just sport.
One of the key highlights of the briefing meeting was the official jersey reveal, where each team’s identity and colors were introduced. This moment brought a strong sense of pride and belonging among the players. In addition, the official shield was revealed, symbolizing the ultimate goal that teams would compete for throughout the tournament.
During the session, the vice president of organizing committee Mr. Chathura Dilshan provided a comprehensive explanation of the tournament rules, match format, and overall structure. Participants were given the opportunity to share their thoughts, clarify doubts, and engage with the organizers, ensuring transparency and smooth coordination.
The event concluded with an official photoshoot, capturing the beginning of a journey filled with competition, teamwork, and memorable moments.
