FCT Shield 2025 – Award Ceremony
Following a thrilling grand final, the FCT Shield 2025 concluded with a memorable award ceremony celebrating the champions, standout performers, and the spirit of the tournament.
Team CT lifted the prestigious Challenge Shield for the first time, marking a historic moment in the tournament’s history. Team ET were awarded the runners-up trophy, recognising their competitive performance throughout the event.
Individual brilliance was also celebrated. Sanka Yasodana from Team CT was named Best Player and Best Batsman of the tournament, thanks to his impactful innings and highest run tally across all matches. Team CS’s Damindu Prasadith earned the Best Bowler award, finishing as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
The three team captains — Loch Arachchige, Pasindu Nimsara, and Sahan Sudeesha — shared their reflections on the tournament, highlighting the excitement, challenges, and camaraderie that defined FCT Shield 2025.
The ceremony was graced by faculty administrative members, including the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dammika Weerasinghe, Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Mr. Neil Cooray, and Mr. Pathum Mihiranga. They congratulated the organizing committee, teams, and players, praising the smooth execution and overall success of the event.
The award ceremony not only celebrated victory but also reflected the teamwork, leadership, and dedication that made FCT Shield 2025 a landmark event in the Faculty of Computing and Technology calendar.
